INEZ BONILLA grew up in a part of New York where it was okay to express yourself in any way you wanted. She grew up on the streets of the Lower East Side in Manhattan. When Inez was young and running the streets, she was always curious about why people would express themselves through clothing.

Throughout her life Inez moved often from borough to borough.  She began to notice how people were so unique to their own neighborhood; every neighborhood had a trend.     

When Inez reached high school, it was another world.  Everyone had a different group and different styles were everywhere! The art school she attended was not her ideal atmosphere; there were gangs and metal detectors throughout as well as a lack of art majors that interested her.  The first person she met was into graffiti, one of the first forms of hip hop and urban culture. He introduced her to a group that was known as the break dancers and the graffiti writers.  Inez fit in perfectly with this group of talented artists. Not only did they have their own sense of style, they were also starting the trends of ‘97, ‘98, and ’99; and of those some still exist today.     

After being immersed in a world that consisted of funky break beats and paint fumes Inez knew that this was now a part of her life. Her love for fashion continued to grow stronger. Thanks to her supporting team at the time, Inez became a part of a crew who were on their way to becoming one of the most diverse style.   

Inez moved down to Miami in late 2001 unaware of the scene she was about to land in.  Although being on her own was not new to her, she was only 19 yrs. old taking on a new environment with no specific plan in mind. But Inez had no idea that she was about to set a trend on SoBe's nightlife scene. After hooking up with one of Miami’s social elites, Max Pierre, Inez was given the opportunity to show this area her definition of style. Inez began to make her own unique pieces in late 2002 as she began to notice that everyone seemed to be wearing the same thing.  With individuality and independence in fashion in mind, Inez became motivated to cultivate a line she always wanted.         

From observing the Miami scene, Inez knew that it needed that Old New York “flava” that she could offer. Her “Inez style” began a trend in which people embraced as a couture design. Designing and styling has always been a part of her life. Keeping it real from the “outside-in” is what Inez brings to you with InezCouture clothing. Inez is InezCouture. She represents a new line that is sexy and classy, but comfortable at the same time.  Inez is an artist that has taken her designs “from the walls to the fabric” so get ready, and stay tuned to the story of Inezcouture.
