oovoo design is all about the eclectic and daringly different handbags! These bags have so much character they can carry themselves out of the door – every bag is a unique personality!
The owner/all-in-one bag boss is Pauline Lewis. She left the corporate world two years ago and traveled back to Asia. She was inspired by the women she met along the way and started to work with one Vietnamese designer in particular: Ms. Le Thi Hong Tu, better known as Hong Tu. Hong Tu’s designs, along with Pauline’s vision and direction, are the signature cornerstone of oovoo design.
This alliance between two women-owned enterprises has grown to support over 600 women in Vietnam: with 120 full-time employees in the southern region of Vietnam; and 500 part-time embroiders in the North. Thus, oovoo handbags have a unique blend of Asian and Western influences that translate into handcrafted works of art. The bags are 100% hand embroidered and carefully crafted.
About the product:
Every oovoo bag is a unique personality! The beautiful colors, tactile textures, and unique design appeal to women who aren’t afraid to express themselves! No embroidery machines are involved in making these bags, and therefore no two bags are ever the same. All bags are made using raw silk, cotton canvas, silk/polyester mix (for greater durability) and are fully lined with a zippered inside pocket, a cell phone pocket with reinforced leather, and a notepad pocket. Most bags have a magnetic button closure – depending on the style, some bags have durable plastic zippers.
What does oovoo mean?
Many customers ask me if oovoo means anything. oovoo has it’s roots in the word “ovo,” which is defined in the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary as “from the egg,” or “from the beginning.” This goes back to the circle of women that I work with, which is fully represented in the oovoo brand. |
